Dear Karateka,
Wado-ryu is one of the most popular karate styles in the world. Founded by Hironori Otsuka in 1934, former master of Shindo Yoshin-ryu Jujutsu, Wado represents a further evolution of the Okinawan combat system due to the fusion, made by master Otsuka, among the principles of Japanese Budo – like Jujutsu Kenpo, Kenjutsu (Japanese fencing) etc. – and the techniques come from Tode (the original name of the Okinawan karate). This somehow makes it a very particular and interesting style of karate, perfectly embedded in the spirit of the Japanese budo.
As a part of the Japanese Budo, Wado-ryu Karate fully recognizes its values and its purposes, developing and enhancing the human potential of everyone, encouraging corteous behaviour, advancing technical proficiency, strengthening the body and perfecting the mind.
Wadokai Masters in Rome is a seminar that, being part of the training and educational offer of the WKSI (the Italian branch of JKF Wado-Kai), aims to foster the international perspective promoted and advocated by the Budo Charter. Actually, an international perspective is necessary to reach for a constant technical and spiritual improvement, both individual and collective.
Roberto Danubio sensei (7th dan JKF Wado-Kai) and Nobuyuki Nukina sensei (6th dan JKF Wado-Kai) – two masters very renowned and internationally appreciated – will collaborate to offer to all participants a concrete opportunity for technical and martial enrichment open to all Wado-ryu practitioners, regardless of their association or federation. Three days of intense trainings, profound teachings and great karate enjoyment.
Wadokai Masters in Rome is a very special event, because, in addition to the significantly high technical level, this seminar – far from being a one-off event – is a part of a process of confrontation, collaboration and technical development open to anyone who wishes to participate, aiming to foster the growth of the Wado-ryu family in Europe and in the whole world.
